Creating in a Sacred Space

The other day I was cleaning up my desk (long story short – 20lb cat vs glass Galileo thermometer – cat won) and realized a part of my problem with writing lately has been that I treat my computer desk like any other space. It’s cluttered with detrius of things that aren’t what I do and aren’t related to anything entertaining that I do outside of ‘work’. It’s almost out of control chaos, and it does affect my ability to create.
So, taking the opportunity, I decided to create a space, that given the limitations of what I have to deal with, is a sacred space for creating. No distractions, no clutter of the physical or spiritual kind, just a space where I can create to my heart’s content. First up, doing a total clear out of what is on and around the desk. After that, it’s setting it up for easy access to all my materials that I need. Finally, it will be adding the last touches to make it the space that I need and want.
